To me, Nature is God. Without it, we simply would not exist. Conserving the world’s natural spaces and the creatures that live there is paramount to the survival of humans as a species, and I have therefore dedicated my life to studying environmentalism in order to help people co-exist more successfully and sustainably with the natural world.

All natural materials I use in my creations are either sourced from roadkill, Fish and Game, secondhand sources such as fellow artists and estate sales, or are antique. In this way, I'm ensuring that no animals were needlessly killed for the sake of the artwork I produce. I fully believe that no part of any creature should go to waste if a purpose can be found for it, but I do NOT support trophy hunters or overseas fur farms by buying 'byproducts' like bones, skulls, or claws directly from them. The only exception I make for this rule is for parts from animals legally culled for population control programs approved by Fish and Wildlife.

As a photographer and wildlife enthusiast, I've been involved with many fantastic organizations such as Images4Life and Wild Tiger, as well as the Sierra Club and many smaller, local groups.
I've been published, interviewed, and even featured on Rainn Wilson (Dwight from “The Office”)'s personal networking website, SoulPancake.com.

I’ve also been blessed with the opportunity to visit many of the world’s most amazing wild places, like Komodo Island, Bali, Lombok, Malaysia, and the Cayman Islands, and have even documented entirely new species previously unknown to science.

Other interests include: Wilderness survival, primitive skills, backpacking, fishing, kayaking, boffing, airsoft, snowboarding, meandering around town, and caving.

This is my new pet, i’ve had him for about 2 weeks or so. You don’t have to ask, the fox tail is fake!
[Rant] However you wouldn’t believe how much stick I get from work, apparently I’m not aloud to wear it because i’m a vegetarian. Funny, no one says anything about the excessive amounts of fake leather I wear

Behold, dear friends: Another example of a ‘fake’ tail that isn’t actually fake. Again, I don’t blame the buyer. She was probably told by the company she bought it from that it was faux. This misrepresentation on the company’s part is illegal according to the Truth in Fur Labeling Act, and should be reported.
However, it is important to know the difference between real and fake fur to begin with, because you, as the consumer, also play a part in the continuation of the industry.
Thus, here’s the guide: http://naturepunk.tumblr.com/post/14057018775/real-vs-fake
Read it, know it, love it.

The sad part is, many of the people who think fur is disgusting are the people that end up accidentally buying it, because they’ve never held it in their hands and don’t know how to identify it. It was really easy for me to find the real coyote fur amidst the “faux” fur coats at the second hand store.

I cant believe all the notes and stuff people have been leaving on this! Just to clarify this is FAKE! If I was to buy it mistakenly thinking it was fake and turned out to be real I would get rid of it, however I think its pretty rude and insulting for people to start saying “ohh she probably didn’t realise it was real blah blah blah” its FAKE, it looks fake, feels fake, was cheap as chips and it melts when cigarette ends have landed on it, i don’t know how many animals you have set fire to where their fur melts also i would just like to respond to the rude and ridiculous comment made by unicornbusiness:
….. “However, it is important to know the difference between real and fake fur to begin with, because you, as the consumer, also play a part in the continuation of the industry.” Fuck you with this bullshit! I’m sorry you do not know me from Adam to make such remarks as to say I play a part in the consumption, fuck right off! I have been an active animal rights activist as long as I can remember, I have been the strictest of vegetarian and vegan my entire life, I am a member of multiple animal rights campaigns, continuously aware of all the disgusting things man kind does to animals, being scared of the torture in which humans create, do not try and insult me by saying I am part of this disgusting trade! I brought something because I wanted to, because it was fake, it does not bother me that it resembles a fox tail as I am fully aware it is not, now please, if you have something to say please address it to myself.

Hate to break it to you, but that tail is real, no matter how much you want to think that it’s not. Bitching at me and calling me names isn’t about to change that. You really should read up on fake Vs. real fur identification, because even from this crappy photo, I can tell you that it’s a 100% real, genuine, actual coyote tail.
If you bought the tail, you are supporting the industry. Why? Because the economy works on a system of supply and demand. You wanted the tail, so you bought it - that’s demand. In order to feed the demand, the companies must supply. Thus, you are supporting the industry.
Now, I’m not saying that you MEANT to do it. Like many others, you were mislead by the company into thinking that your product was animal-friendly. I pointed that out pretty blatantly to start with. I merely posted my response to help others learn to ID real fur when they see it, because even though it’s illegal to mislabel fur, people still do it. So calm yo tits. Report the company you bought the tail from, and help others from making the same mistake you did.
