To me, Nature is God. Without it, we simply would not exist. Conserving the world’s natural spaces and the creatures that live there is paramount to the survival of humans as a species, and I have therefore dedicated my life to studying environmentalism in order to help people co-exist more successfully and sustainably with the natural world.

All natural materials I use in my creations are either sourced from roadkill, Fish and Game, secondhand sources such as fellow artists and estate sales, or are antique. In this way, I'm ensuring that no animals were needlessly killed for the sake of the artwork I produce. I fully believe that no part of any creature should go to waste if a purpose can be found for it, but I do NOT support trophy hunters or overseas fur farms by buying 'byproducts' like bones, skulls, or claws directly from them. The only exception I make for this rule is for parts from animals legally culled for population control programs approved by Fish and Wildlife.

As a photographer and wildlife enthusiast, I've been involved with many fantastic organizations such as Images4Life and Wild Tiger, as well as the Sierra Club and many smaller, local groups.
I've been published, interviewed, and even featured on Rainn Wilson (Dwight from “The Office”)'s personal networking website, SoulPancake.com.

I’ve also been blessed with the opportunity to visit many of the world’s most amazing wild places, like Komodo Island, Bali, Lombok, Malaysia, and the Cayman Islands, and have even documented entirely new species previously unknown to science.

Other interests include: Wilderness survival, primitive skills, backpacking, fishing, kayaking, boffing, airsoft, snowboarding, meandering around town, and caving.

Dog Folks!

I’m going to get a Kong toy for Cabal to help with his teething issue today. Everyone says to put peanut butter inside it to keep him occupied. But I’m highly allergic to peanuts and would rather not go into shock when Cabal gives me puppy kisses.

What else can I put in a Kong that is inexpensive and not-so-messy?

almond butter? or some other kind of non-peanut paste.
  3. thedeaddontrise said: i put in ground beef, ground turkey, ground chicken or ground buffalo. after that i stick it in the freezer until frozen. presents more of a challenge to keep them entertained and dogs love cold treats.
  4. daughterofrock said: just regular dog food works too!
  5. my-road-to-awe said: my cousin fills hers with treats that barely fit in the opening. but anything that he likes and fits inside works. It is just something to keep them focused on the toy, though my dogs never liked them no matter what we put in them.
  6. keylasrixx said: I put bits of dog food or kibbles in his treat. My dog has a field day with it. Also good if you’re switching his food to put the need food in the treat for him to get used to it.

  11. ferretorium said: I’m sure almond or pecan butter would also work! You could puree some chicken and freeze it inside for a cool treat, too, it helps soothe teething gum pains. Kong also makes an “easy cheese” kind of treat goop you can spray inside it.
  12. 1onewolff said: I wouldn’t recommend cheese wiz because of how high in calories it is and it’s probably not good for pups. You can also just use plain old kibble food

  14. seeinxbetterxdays said: Kong actually makes treats for certain toys of theirs that fit insides. Not only helps with teething, but helps puppy work on problem solving skills (getting the treat out).

  18. lucifershammer said: I wouldn’t recommend that large an amount of cheese at all. Same with cat food. a pate sort of thing would be a great substitute though! The smellier the better. Dunno how cheap pate is where you are but they’ll be a cheap version im sure! x
  19. whatmymotherwanted said: You can put anything inside one of those! We used to put like dog treats in ours for our GSD.
  20. mygearsarestartingtotremble said: I saw someone suggested cheese, he’ll get fat very quickly. Use it sparingly. Kong paste is also highly concentrated calories, use that sparingly too.
  21. whodrankmycoffee said: Dog/cat food, creme cheese, pâté (that cheap-ass one, but you never know what it’s made of; they’re pretty popular in here), I guess even grounded meat would do it’s job. I don’t really know about what products are available in U.S. markets.
  22. walkingfern said: Kong makes treats to insert in their toys.Maybe you could get a hold of some of those? Otherwise, LazyDog bakery provides soft baked treats you can break up and stick in.
  23. peaceteaandhats said: you could put treats nd clean it out every so often
  24. disceel said: You can put in some little kibble pieces blocked in by a bigger one, too :) But I’m not sure about anything that’s also paste-like, other than the peanutbutter u.u

  26. mydogisanerd said: Cat food, creme cheese (preferably goats if you can get it), just random dog treats. :) You can also get kong paste but yeah, that can be expensive!
